NOT EVERY WISDOM TOOTH NEEDS TO STAY. NOT EVERY WISDOM TOOTH NEEDS TO GO.
Your third molars, commonly known as wisdom teeth, may need to be removed when they become a source of trouble.
WHEN SHOULD WISDOM TEETH BE REMOVED? π©
βοΈ Recurrent gum swelling and infection (pericoronitis)
βοΈ Extensive tooth decay that cannot be restored
βοΈ Damage to the neighboring second molar
βοΈ Periodontal destruction around the affected teeth
βοΈ Root resorption of an adjacent tooth
βοΈ Associated cysts, tumors, or other pathology
But here's the catch: An impacted wisdom tooth doesn't automatically mean extraction. Some can be monitored, while others may require removal depending on clinical and radiographic findings.
At Pahiyom Dental, we believe in evidence-based dentistry, not unnecessary procedures. Every tooth deserves a proper assessment, and every treatment decision should have a reason.
π¦· Don't wait for your wisdom tooth to become a painful lesson.
