Can orofacial pain be linked to sinus issues or ear problems?
Yes — and it comes down to shared nerve pathways in the face.
🔹 Sinus link: Inflamed maxillary sinuses (allergies, infection) put pressure directly on the roots of your upper teeth and facial bones — often mimicking a toothache or jaw pain.
🔹 Ear link: Ear infections, Eustachian tube dysfunction, and TMJ disorders (the jaw joint sits right next to the ear canal!) can send "referred pain" to your cheeks, temples, or jawline.
🔹 The common thread: The trigeminal nerve supplies your sinuses, ears, and mouth — so pain in one area can easily masquerade as pain in another.
Persistent facial ache + stuffy nose, ear fullness, or a clicking jaw? Don't guess — get it checked. 🦷
