Third molars or more commonly known as "Wisdom teeth" may not only present with pain. Growing out of these molars may also cause neighboring teeth to be crowded, have cavities, and may result in repeated gum swelling due to trauma.
But for the patient who came to the clinic, she complained of sudden swelling on her left cheek, difficulty and pain upon opening of the mouth, headache, and food getting stuck on the gums covering her upper and lower left wisdom teeth. After finishing a round of medications, the patient was scheduled to undergo extractions of the involved teeth. Thankfully, the case went swift and easy!
