Here’s another retreatment case:

Patient is undergoing orthodontic treatment prior to prosthodontics to correct the inclination and rotation of the teeth. Among the crossbite and edge-to-edge bite, there is a mesially rotated 45 and 44.

Loop mechanics for derotation of terminal teeth in the arch was used. Three months in, 45 and 44 are looking good! 🙌🫶

LIFE UPDATE!

This is a re-treatment case. The patient wanted to move all of her front teeth backward, in her words "Doc, nakalabas po ngipin ko."

Ten (10) months since we started, there is noticeable reduction in the prominence of the upper lip (a more open nasolabial angle) and lower lip (a more open mentolabial sulcus) due to the retraction of the incisors. The patient is very happy with our ongoing treatment.

As I always tell my students during lectures, you do not only change the alignment/occlusion of the teeth with orthodontics. You can also create changes in the soft tissue profile of your patients.

It's almost our Dagupan clinic's one year anniversary! I am truly grateful for your support and referrals. It's been scary starting a practice outside of my hometown but I'm glad that I/we did it.
