Cavities frequently develop in the tight spaces where teeth touch, known as the interproximal surfaces. As shown in the top photo, these cavities can be difficult to detect during standard brushing because they hide beneath the contact point.
Leaving interproximal decay unaddressed allows it to silently pe*****te deep into the dentin, eventually threatening the nerve of the tooth.

Through conservative composite bonding, a dental professional removes only the decayed structure and replaces it with a shade-matched biocompatible resin. As seen in the restored photo, this seals the enamel, protects the internal anatomy, and preserves the natural spacing needed for proper flossing.
