Day 2 of the “Teach the Teachers” Workshop focused on hands-on learning and updates on the latest dental materials and innovations in the global market.

Grateful to have participated in this meaningful collaboration between the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society Inc (PPDSI) and the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD) held last April 25–26, 2026 at UPCD Manila.

It was truly an enriching experience learning from esteemed global experts — Dr. Stephen, Dr. Vierrou, and Dr. Papachroni — as we continue striving to elevate pediatric dental education and clinical practice.

Still feeling grateful for the opportunity to take part in the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society Inc (PPDSI) & International Association of Pediatric Dentistry (IAPD) “Teach the Teachers” Workshop held on April 25–26, 2026 at UPCD Manila.

It was a privilege to learn from and be guided by esteemed leaders in pediatric dentistry— IAPD President Dr. Stephen, IAPD Secretary General Dr. Vierrou, and IAPD Representative for National Societies Dr. Papachroni.

Thankful as well to colleagues and mentors who continue to inspire growth in our field. Looking forward to applying these learnings in advancing pediatric dental education. 🦷✨

🦷 Did you know? Some babies are actually born with teeth! 👶✨

These are called natal teeth when present at birth, and neonatal teeth when they erupt within the first 30 days of life. Although rare, these are usually part of the baby’s normal primary teeth that simply erupted earlier than expected.

Possible causes may include:
✔️ Genetics or family history
✔️ Early positioning of the developing tooth in the gums
✔️ Other natural developmental factors

While most cases are harmless, some natal or neonatal teeth can be loose or sensitive, which is why evaluation by a pediatric dentist is very important to ensure your baby’s safety and comfort.

💡 So mommies and daddies — no need to panic agad! Proper dental check-up and guidance can help keep your little one safe and healthy. ❤️

✅ This photo shows an actual case from our clinic: a less-than-2-week-old baby with a mobile neonatal tooth.

The baby was born without visible teeth, but after a few days, a tooth gradually started erupting. The parents immediately consulted their pediatrician and were advised to visit our clinic for proper evaluation and management.

WHY DENTAL CONSCIOUS SEDATION OR GENERAL ANESTHESIA? 🤔🤔🤔

Para sa ilang bata—lalo na ang may special health care needs (SHCN) o sobrang takot at maraming kailangan gawin dental procedures—mas safe at effective ang treatment gamit ang sedation or GA, lalo na kung hindi na kaya ng local anesthesia, conventional or gentle approach alone.

Another Successful Complete Oral Rehabilitation on a Well Child Patient ✨

This young patient presented with prolonged early childhood caries caused by extended bottle feeding. The condition had already affected the child’s confidence, making them feel shy about their smile.

We’re happy to share that the patient was very cooperative and eager to undergo treatment, which made the entire procedure smoother and more efficient for our team.
