Over the past month, we have grown even more familiar with the misconception that medium and hard-bristled toothbrushes clean better. And they do! Toothbrushes with stiff bristles are great for cleaning the house or scrubbing your shoes. But when it comes to your teeth, these bristles can damage the enamel and soft tissue, causing tooth sensitivity and receding gum line.

Soft bristles are gentle yet flexible, reaching the crevices that other brushes cannot. Meaning they can clean just as well without hurting you. Remember, we want a fresh and healthy mouth, not a clean but injured mouth.

Your action step for today: keep the rigid bristles away from your mouth! Swap your hard toothbrush for a soft toothbrush.
