Teeth-Fact 101 (Wisdom Tooth)
Have you ever experienced that excruciating pain on your jaw?
Well it might be your Wisdom Tooth trying to erupt, disturbing the peaceful alignment of your permanent Teeth.
What is Wisdom Tooth?
Wisdom teeth are the last permanent teeth to appear or erupt in the mouth. These teeth usually come through the gums between the ages of 17 and 25. They may come through partially or not at all. Some people are lucky that wisdom teeth never come through.
Why do I need to have my Wisdom Teeth removed?
You'll likely need your impacted wisdom tooth removed if it causes problems such as:
1. It causes pain.
2. It traps food and debris that might cause decaye.
3. It may cause infection or gum disease, also known as periodontal disease.
4. Damage to a nearby tooth or surrounding bone.
5. Development of a fluid-filled sac around the wisdom tooth. This sac also is known as a cyst.
6. Complications with braces to straighten other teeth.
Having your Wisdom Tooth removed can help you in a long run.
