A patient presented to our clinic with swollen face, panoramic x-ray showed a 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐚𝐧 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐬. On the same visit, the patient's lower impacted tooth was likewise extracted.

Early assessment and proper treatment reduce the risk of complications and support more favorable recovery.

This case highlights the importance of PROPER PANORAMIC XRAY EVALUATION PRIOR TO ORTHODONTIC TREATMENT, and early detection for timely intervention and better outcomes.

A 13-year-old patient presented to our clinic with an impacted tooth that had been previously managed with orthodontic braces, unfortunately without any prior panoramic xray (full mouth x-ray). The case was first consulted in San Jose City, where it was referred to our clinic for further assessment and management.

A Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) scan was performed, which clearly revealed a dentigerous cyst associated with the impacted tooth, along with involvement of the adjacent non-vital teeth affected by the lesion.

The patient underwent surgical removal of the cyst and impacted tooth, together with extraction of the affected non-vital teeth. The procedure was successfully performed under general anesthesia in the Operating Room of Good Samaritan Medical Center, in coordination with the ENT.
