As of May 30, 2025, Cabanatuan City has recorded πππππ πππΎππππππΏ πΎπΌπππ ππ πππππππππ (now officially termed mpox).
According to the City Health Office β City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, the first mpox case was laboratory confirmed in March, while the other two were detected in April and May respectively.
Dr. Arminda A. Adecer, City Health Officer II, reported that identified individuals had undergone strict monitoring and isolation, and are now fully recovered. She also stated that there is no evidence of widespread community transmission of the said illness. All suspected cases and probable cases are immediately tested through the Research Institute for Tropical Medicine (RITM) for confirmation.
The public is hereby reminded to:

OBSERVE RESPIRATORY ETIQUETTE (such as covering mouth when coughing or sneezing)

WASH HANDS FREQUENTLY WITH SOAP AND WATER OR AN ALCOHOL-BASED HAND SANITIZER
β
REFRAIN FROM GOING TO CROWDED PLACES AND BEING IN CONTACT WITH INDIVIDUALS WHO HAVE MPOX OR WHO ARE MANIFESTING SYMPTOMS OF MPOX (fever, headache, muscle aches, back pain, chills and exhaustion)
Those who are experiencing symptoms of mpox stated-above are strongly encouraged to immediately report to the City Health Office - City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit through their hotline number 0919-081-0167 for their information and appropriate action.
The City Government of Cabanatuan will continue its surveillance effort in case finding and contact tracing to prevent the spread of the disease.
