🦷 What Is Silver Diamine Fluoride in Pediatric Dentistry?

🧪 Silver Diamine Fluoride (SDF) is a minimally invasive treatment used in pediatric dentistry to arrest active dental caries and help prevent new lesions.

👧🧒 It can be especially useful for children who have multiple cavities, difficulty cooperating, or a high risk of caries.

✨ SDF is quick to apply, does not require removing all decayed tooth structure, and can help delay or avoid more invasive treatment in selected cases.

⚠️ One important consideration: SDF can cause permanent dark staining of the treated carious dentin, so parents should be informed before treatment.
