Root canal treatment is a dental procedure that removes infected or inflamed pulp from within a tooth to save it from extraction. Do's and Don'ts after Tooth Extraction:

Take it easy for a minimum of 72 hours (3-7days).

No lifting heavy objects.

Continue to bite down on the gauze for at least three
hours to reduce bleeding and allow a clot to form.

Replace soaked Cotton as necessary.

Apply ice immediately after tooth extraction and at 10-minute intervals.

Don’t lie flat. Prop your head up on pillows to lessen bleeding.

After tooth extraction it is important not to disturb or dislodge the clot as it aides healing.

No smoking
No drinking alcohol

Do not rinse vigorously, suck on straws, drink hot beverages, eat spicy foods, smoke, drink alcohol or brush teeth next to the extraction site for 72 hours to avoid infection or a painful dry socket.
