Hypodontia is a congenital condition where one to six permanent teeth fail to develop or never erupt.

Hyperdontia (as posted previously) is the opposite of hypodontia. It is a congenital condition of having extra teeth. Examples are mesiodens, distomolars and paramolars.

Dental plaque is a sticky, colorless film of bacteria, food particles and saliva that constantly form in the teeth. If not removed daily by brushing and flossing it can harden into a tartar (calculus). Brushing and flossing daily plus teeth cleaning every 6 months can remove plaque buildup.

1. SEVERE TOOTH DECAY - When decay or caries too extensive
2. ADVANCED PERIODONTAL DISEASE - Severe gum disease causing the tooth to be highly mobile
3. SEVERE TRAUMA OR FRACTURE - Teeth fractured below the gumline or cracked that is impossible to repair.
4. IMPACTED TEETH - Impacted teeth can cause pain, infection or damage to neighboring teeth.
5. ORTHODONTIC NEEDS - Extractiong health teeth to create necessary space for crowded dentition
6. PULPAL NECROSIS - Deep infection or abscess that cannot be resolved by root canal therapy.
