MARCHing On For Christ in Butulan
Almost 4 months after the magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Southern Mindanao, many affected families in Butulan, Jose Abad Santos, Davao Occidental (Ground Zero ) still live in tents.
MARCH for Christ, born in the aftermath of the 1990 killer earthquake in Baguio City where many of us have experienced living in tarpaulin tents for a few weeks can relate how it feels. Their case is longer- close to 4 months. So it is difficult to turn a blind eye.
We couldn’t say to ourselves that we have done enough with the food relief from June to July and GI sheets for rebuilding.
“Suppose you see a brother or sister who has no food or clothing,
and you say, "Good-bye and have a good day; stay warm and eat well"—but then you don't give that person any food or clothing. What good does that do? (James 2:15-16)
By faith we have procured coco lumbers for 5 houses with “sawali” walls ( woven bamboo material). Workforce will be “Bayanihan” system where community will come together to help build each other’s house free of charge.
Our prayer is to help 21 identified families as we look to Jesus for this rebuilding project:
in Him, through Him and for Him.
Because Jesus Cares❤️
