When a harsh review hits, remember that “some patients are a little bit irrational and they're typing with emotion rather than objective truth, but there is still truth to it.”
Here’s our side of the story 🙂✌️
Patients complain:
— A day ago she experienced pain on
Her upper right but she’s not sure
What tooth, the duration last up to 2
Hours, Pain rate 5/10
— X ray shows slight cavity on distal of
Tooth # 17
— Flappy gums on distal end of tooth #
18. She has also class I cavity on tooth
#16
I explained to her that maybe she has a low pain tolerance coz as what I saw the cavity is small. As for the tooth #17 most of the cavity is located on the disto cervical causing discomfort because of the proximity to the pulp chamber. As for tooth # 16 sometimes there are cases that even if how small the cavity if it is parallel to the pulp chamber it will really cause pain slightly.. As for tooth # 18 or the wisdom tooth it really causes discomfort due to pressure Or calcular deposits situated on the distal portion subgingivally due to its location that is hard to reach areas and sometimes it will also cause pericoronitis.
My suggestion to the patient:
I advise filling on tooth # 16 and 17 . As for # 18 since it is located distally I did not suggest her for an RCT. I also tell her to have an oral prophylaxis because of the heavy calcular deposits.
Patient said that she has no budget for the filling, oral prophylaxis and rct , so I just said if you don’t want to do such procedure I just gave her prescription which is antibiotic and pain reliever but then she refuse again to take the antibiotic, so instead I recommend her to just take Sensedol as substitute. As for the X-ray just see the difference in the pictures. Only dentist knows!
X ray charge is different from Dental consultation.
Thank you and I we are also open for a constructive criticism.
To God be the Glory!
