The mode of failure of an unreinforced multi-unit composite prosthesis tends to be the cohesive strength of the composite resin itself; meaning the expected mode of failure will be fracturing of the composite resin.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Ribbond prevents the composite resin from fracturing and instead of fracture failures, the expected mode of failure of a Ribbond reinforced composite bridge will be the bond of the composite resin to the abutments. The longevity of most Ribbond bridges will therefore be determined by your bonding skills to the abutments.
