• floss more
• come back in 6 months

But behaviour rarely changes when people don’t understand the problem.
The moment a patient sees disclosed biofilm for the first time, something shifts.

Suddenly it’s not:
“My hygienist says I should floss.”
It’s:
“Oh... that’s what I’ve been missing.”

That’s the real power of GBT.
Understanding.

Because people support what they understand.

And patients who understand their disease become patients who participate in their treatment.

That’s when the magic happens!!

A lot of us were taught the same sequence:
Remove calculus first.. Polish at the end.
For years, dental hygiene was largely focused on what we could see and feel. Then biofilm entered the conversation. And quietly changed everything. Because the primary cause of gingivitis and periodontitis isn’t calculus. It’s biofilm.

Calculus matters.
Stain matters.

But neither of them are the disease.

The shift from “scraping teeth” to actual biofilm management changed the way many of us diagnose, treat and educate patients.

More prevention.
More patient understanding.
Better long-term outcomes.
