Direct composite restorations to restore these 2 teeth. Would have preferred to go indirect (ceramic filling) on the 1st molar but the patient was a student so due to finances we decided to go for composite.

Closing down on a year with a lot of ups and downs but at the end of the line there was always growth. We’re extremely excited for this coming year because the past 2yrs have been all about grinding, building and setting a new standard in the game of Dentistry.

This year will be all about bringing it to the public and sharing our passion; the true magic of a smile makeover! Big thanks to our team for working so hard to make it all happen🙏🏽

Direct composite restoration

The importance of anatomy and function is too often neglected by patients and dentists. My philosophy is “give back what was lost”, so when a filling is placed it should RESEMBLE a natural tooth. Not only in the way it looks but also how it functions. That is the ONLY way to have long lasting predictable results!

What am I trying to tell you guys? Replace your flat nonfunctioning (often leaking) restorations with aesthetic functioning long lasting restorations!

Recreating nature is the ultimate goal!

Ps. The 1st molar will be restored with a porcelain restoration after this patient completes his periodontal treatment with our dental hygienist.

Porcelain, you either love it or hate it ❤️💔

In my case I love working with ceramics because:

1. The restoration is almost always much nicer
2. They last much longer compared to composite.
3. Also the fact that you have to be very neat in handling it makes it a lot of fun to work with this material.

Simple single shade composite 🦷

For some reason I really enjoyed doing this direct resin restoration. In general last Tuesday was an amazing day with the final cementation of 10 porcelain veneers. Before and after of the smile makeover coming next week!

Ceramic Onlay ✨🦷

This molar had a root canal treatment so I decided to restore it with this beautiful ceramic onlay.

Endodontically treated teeth are weakened due to 2 main factors:
1. The tooth has no blood supply anymore
2. Most of the time a lot of tooth structure has been lost

So for these situations ceramic restorations are perfect to restore teeth in an esthetic and functional manner.

Next on the planning is the big (unesthetic) composite restoration on the premolar. Thoughts on what would be the best way to restore it..?

Old composite bondings on the two incisors (front teeth) and a worn dentition due to bruxism (grinding your teeth).

We managed to bring back harmony and symmetry to her by improving the shape and colour of her teeth with 8 minimal prep porcelain

Next step on the agenda is bringing back life to her lower teeth as well in order to complete her smile.
