IT COSTS THAT MUCH. 🦷💸

I think sometimes people forget that dental treatment is so much more than “the dentist spent 30 minutes working on my teeth.”

Behind every successful treatment are years of training and experience, quality materials, laboratory fees, equipment, sterilisation, infection control, staff, electricity, rent, maintenance, continuous education… and a whole lot of responsibility.
And yes, I understand that not everyone can afford every treatment. I really do.
But affordability doesn't mean that quality care has no cost.

Sometimes I hear, “That's too expensive. I'll go somewhere else.” And that's okay. Patients have the right to make the choice that works for them.
But as a dental professional and a business owner, I also have the right to charge what allows me to provide the standard of care I believe in and keep my doors open.

Because if I keep reducing my prices every time someone says it's expensive, eventually there won't be a sustainable practice left to provide that care.
And that's something I've had to learn too:

Discounting isn't a business model.

I can choose to help someone when I genuinely can. I can make exceptions for longstanding patients. I can meet people halfway when their circumstances warrant it.
But that doesn't mean my actual treatment is “worth less.”

So when you ask:
“Why does dental treatment cost that much?”
Sometimes the answer really is…
It costs that much because it takes a LOT to make it happen.

And no, unfortunately, I don't have superpowers. 😂

🦷 Your mouth doesn’t always shout. Sometimes it whispers.

And those little whispers are easy to ignore…
A tooth that keeps hurting.
A tooth that suddenly looks darker.
Food that ALWAYS gets trapped in the same place.
A hole you can see or feel.
Calculus that won’t brush away.
Gums that bleed when you brush.
A tooth that suddenly feels different.
Or a swelling that keeps coming back.
You may think, “It’s not really bothering me, so I’ll leave it.”

But sometimes, the absence of severe pain doesn’t mean the absence of a problem.
The earlier we investigate what’s happening, the more opportunity there may be to manage it before it becomes a bigger, more uncomfortable and potentially more complicated problem.

So, take this as your little reminder today:
💜 Don’t wait for a dental emergency before paying attention to your mouth.
🦷 See your dentist.
🔍 Find out what’s going on.
✨ Treat problems early.
