Another case of placing crowns next to an impacted wisdom tooth without first removing the wisdom tooth. The food trap has caused an advanced gum problem plus decay on the adjacent tooth as expected, requiring a new crown to be made.

A very common occurrence when a horizontally impacted wisdom tooth is not removed quickly. The food trap will cause decay on the tooth in front. Thankfully we were still able to restore that tooth with a filling after simultaneously removing the wisdom tooth.

This lady was referred away because the dentist who attempted the root canal procedure could not understand why it continued to bleed every time she opened it up to do the treatment. The patient came to see us and we took a 3D scan to check. Turns out the dentist in question drilled too deep and perforated the root into the bone and destroyed too much healthy tooth structure. We had no choice but to remove the tooth as it was unsalvageable.

Some were very deep and close to the inferior alveolar nerve, which is to be avoided, making the surgery that much more complicated.
