What can we do about them? 🦷

Sometimes, after braces or aligners, you may notice small triangular spaces between your teeth.

These are often called “black triangles” and can make you feel like something is missing from an otherwise straight smile.

Smile asymmetries are often more challenging to treat than crowded teeth. It requires patience, precision, and realistic expectations.

This patient wanted a more even smile without veneers or composite bonding.

Using Invisalign clear aligners, the following was achieved:

1. Improved smile symmetry with selective tooth extrusion (moving teeth lower)
2. Enhanced smile fullness by correcting anterior root torque (adjusting angle of front teeth)
3. Broadened smile with arch expansion (gently widening the smile)

Orthodontics is about balance, function, and harmony.

This young gentleman wanted to improve his smile. On assessment, he presented with a deep bite, crowding, and an asymmetrical smile.

His treatment was completed with Invisalign clear aligners, using a combination of:
1. Arch development through controlled expansion
2. Interproximal reduction (IPR) in the lower arch
3. Lower incisor intrusion to correct the deep bite
4. Coordination of both arches to achieve a balanced smile

Today, a natural looking smile is very much possible without fixed braces.

For the best outcomes, aligners should be worn 20–22 hours a day, removed only for meals, drinks (except water), and cleaning.
