Malaysian Dental Association’s (MDA) statement on the purported claim of deaths link to dental local anaesthetic among vaccinated individuals

The recently circulated news on the social media claiming deaths related to the use of anaesthetic including dental local anaesthetic among vaccinated individuals is FALSE and misleading to the general public. Till date (refer to some of the references below), there has been no advisory from health authorities on prohibition of dental local anaesthetic among vaccinated individuals. Such allegations, often without scientific evidence, are extremely damaging and may even lead to distrust and hampers the immunization rate in the country. The Association strongly supports the national vaccination program for the common good of all and vaccinated individuals who are concern can discuss further with their dental practitioners on this matter. Your dental practitioners will take a full history and update your medical history during your dental visit.
