Not every implant journey is straightforward.
And not every case heals the way we expect.
This case started with a fractured anterior tooth and an immediate implant placement with good primary stability.
Clinically and radiographically, everything appeared acceptable.
Four months later, something didn’t feel right.
A repeat CBCT revealed unexpected bone loss and granulation tissue around the implant.
Although the implant remained stable, the surrounding tissues required immediate attention.
The area was carefully re-entered,
granulation tissue thoroughly debrided,
and guided bone regeneration was carried out to support healing and preserve the labial bone.
This is dentistry.
Even with proper planning and technique, biology can be unpredictable.
We share this case not to show perfection,
but to show vigilance, transparency, and commitment to doing what is best for the patient.
Healing is ongoing.
The implant is maintained.
And we continue to monitor closely.
