DON’T IGNORE THE WARNING SIGNS

Bone loss is a common consequence of loss of teeth. In the case of periodontitis, the bacteria gradually eats away at the underlying jawbone and at the periodontal ligaments that connect the tooth to the bone.

At this stage, periodontal surgery is required in order to clean the deep bacteria-filled pockets that have formed.

Swollen or bleeding gums, painful chewing, bad breath that doesn’t go away even after brushing, and a receding gum line are all signs of plaque and calculus buildup.

When this occurs, it’s important to schedule an appointment with your dentist so the plaque and calculus can be removed using a process called scaling.

Scaling will remove hard calculus from sub- and supragingival areas in a minimally invasive way with ultrasonic scaler.

It contributes to the reduction of bleeding on probing, periodontal probing depth and the pocket closure.

Lingual tori are non-cancerous, bony “bumps” of extra bone growth in the mouth.
The most common treatment for a mandibular torus is the “watch and wait” option. Unless your tori bone is extremely large and interfering with normal everyday life.

When the tori are severe enough that something has to be done about them, the only option that’s really available is to have the tori surgically removed.

Here, we remove tori with the aid of a minimally invasive surgical technique using the evidence-based Piezosurgery bone-cutting device. With Piezosurgery, we were able to easily remove the lingual tori with zero discomfort during and after the procedure.
