In honour of those who served where the road could not reach. ๐๏ธ
The tragedy involving the Sarawak Flying Medical Service is deeply heartbreaking.
Having once had the privilege of serving in the rural areas of Borneo, we know how daunting those journeys could be. The long distances, unpredictable weather, challenging terrain, and the uncertainty that comes with reaching communities far from the nearest hospital.
But despite all of that, they went.
They flew into places where help was needed most, carrying not only medical supplies, but hope, comfort and a lifeline to people.
Today, we remember the lives lost with profound sadness and gratitude. Their work may have taken them into the skies, but their purpose was always deeply rooted on the ground; in the lives of the people they served.
May their sacrifice never be forgotten.
May their families find strength and peace.
And may those who continue this noble mission always return safely home.
๐๏ธ Rest in peace. Your service will be remembered ๐ค
