A young patient disturbed by the very obvious white spot on his front tooth, everytime he smiles, that will be the first thing others focus on. He told me this spot is there since the tooth came out, and not on other teeth. So we deduce that this happened due to malformation of enamel crystallization secondary to infection or trauma of previous baby tooth. Imagine lights passing through cracked glass, it got reflected in those cracked area causing whiter and non translucent appearance. The malformation may even cause defect in the tooth with irregularities and ditched surface. We helped to solve this condition by using three different shades of composite A2, IE and bulk filled flowable. Then highly polished it with diamond coated silicone polisher. Final appearance good with colours and translucency closely matching his other teeth. He can smile wider now 😊
