A young handsome man unfortunately had accident causing major injuries to body and mouth region. After 3 months of body healing he appeared at our clinic to seek for dental treatment. There is huge bony defect with missing two front teeth, I think it was dentoalveolar fracture, losing a bulk of bone anteriorly. After proper check up and discussion with him and his parents, we believe to rehabilitate it with simpler way so that he regain confidence as soon as possible. We did some mock up, then gave him a temporary bridge few days later. Then we did some GBR (Guided bone regeneration) to increase the bone volume, but we informed earlier is hard to achieve vertical increase of bone. We then molded the gum using temporary bridge and waited it to mature another 6 months. Finally installed with esthetic zirconia bridge with minimal pink gum. During the 6 months, we carried out other treatments like restoring dental caries, replace missing tooth with dental implant and added composite to raise overall bite, to reduce his existing deep bite. It finished as planned, he now starts working as usual and nobody notices much changes, in fact his front teeth are more well aligned now than previously. 🙂
