DENTAL IMPLANTS TREATMENT FOR A PATIENT WITH GAGGING ISSUE

This patient experienced difficulty tolerating removable dentures due to a strong gag reflex.

Two Dental Implants was placed at the upper left region to provide a more comfortable and stable fixed solution.

The partial OPG images shown demonstrate the stages of treatment and follow-up:

As taking intraoral X-rays was difficult due to the patient’s gagging reflex, partial OPG imaging was utilised throughout the treatment and review stages for monitoring.

A patient presented with a missing upper anterior tooth and requested treatment to restore dental function and appearance.

Following comprehensive clinical assessment, appropriate treatment options were discussed. A fixed dental bridge was provided as part of a prosthodontic treatment plan, with the aim of restoring oral function and supporting dental aesthetics.

Where clinically indicated, pink porcelain was incorporated to:
• Replace missing gingival tissue
• Improve appearance in areas of soft-tissue deficiency
• Support a more natural tooth–gum transition in prosthetic rehabilitation

Treatment planning and outcomes depend on individual clinical findings.
