After a brief hiatus, I’m back with a new case to share! 🦷

Recap on my previous story! Sorry I have been really busy!

So this is how I manage a simple anterior crossbite case.

Benefits of using this mechanic:
1. Conserve and hold the space for the upper lateral incisor.
2. Intrusive and labial force vector for the upper lateral incisor, which is exactly what’s needed to correct this anterior crossbite.
3. Avoid putting any posterior bite turbos, to enhance patient’s comfort.

Throwback on my previous story. 🤩🥳

What I usually do for an over-erupted and crossbite canine? Advantages of doing it?

1. This sectional mechanic gives us a buccal and intrusive force vector, which is what we need to correct this crossbite, and we don’t need a bite turbos to open up the bite, which may be uncomfortable for the patient!

2. Avoid potentially causing occlusal canting! Canine anchorage value is a lot higher compared to the incisors, if a straight wire is simply run through such cases, often the canine will pull the incisors down, instead of canine intrusion.

So what do you usually do for correcting an overly extruded and crossbite canine? 🦷😁
