Case update

This patient had extractions done with immediate implant placement simultaneous bone augmentation done. An Osstem TSIII implant was used in this case.
During the restoration phase, often times, adjustments can be made to improve the outcome further. In this case, the bridge seemed rotated during try in because of the uneven incisal edges. Pink porcelain was added and the incisal edge was adjusted to give patient a more balanced smile. A fully guided implant protocol makes the treatment more efficient, turning what used to be a stressful longer procedure, into a simple straightforward routine. Giving the patient a pleasant experience as routine as getting a filling done. This upper premolar was planned for extraction, however, immediate implant placement was avoided due to the close proximity of the sinus. Ridge preservation was done, and a tissue-level Osstem SSIII 4.0x7mm implant was placed. A surgical guide provided a definite stop, avoiding the sinus and a more complicated sinus lift procedure. Single anterior tooth replacement can be challenging to restore. This patient had a missing tooth, with inadequate bone volume, asymmetrical width of the right incisor the tooth restored, deep bite. Orthodontic treatment was offered but the patient preferred a restorative only approach. An Osstem TSIV implant was used in this case as a tapered implant was more suitable for this case. The bone was augmented at the time of implant placement. The gum tissue was adequately thick, so a screw-retained implant crown was issued at 3 months after implant placement. When two teeth are missing, a cantilever implant bridge is a good option. The space can be restored with natural looking teeth without the extra cost of a second implant. Here, an Osstem SS 4.1x8mm implant was placed, and restored at 3 months with a nicely fabricated bridge.

The patient wished to replace a missing premolar; however, a large buccal bone defect was present as the tooth had been extracted a long time ago. Simultaneous implant placement and guided bone regeneration were carried out using an Osstem SS implant and a xenograft bone substitute. Tissue level implants are offer many benefits for the patient by omitting the need for a second surgery and enhanced tissue stability. Almost always, tissue level implants are used for posterior teeth in my practice. In this case, an Osstem SS4.0x8.5mm implant for placed 2mm below the free gingiva to allow for adequate supracrestal tissue attachment. A sinus floor elavation procedure was done to achieve the height required to place this implants. Osstem Malaysia

When restoring an implant, we must consider how it will function at least five to ten years down the line. Will the patient be able to maintain the area adequately, and what can we do to improve the long-term survival of the restoration?
This patient had two implants placed in the lower right region; however, the amount of soft tissue around the implants was minimal. A free gingival graft was therefore performed. After three months of healing, two crowns were fitted.
The increased thickness of keratinised tissue around the implants provides a better seal against bacterial infiltration and makes it easier for the patient to clean the area, ultimately supporting the longevity of the restoration.

This patient presented with recurrent abscess, extensive bone loss on the lower anterior tooth even though efforts have been made to stabilise the gum disease. Extraction of both the incisors were done, followed by disinfection of the area, immediate implant placement and guided bone regeneration. A healing abutment was placed at the time of surgery to avoid having a second surgery. Pain after surgery reported was minimal. 2 months healing has been uneventful, now it's time to restore the implant. Stay tuned for updates on the final outcome. Osstem Malaysia
