This patient 👧🏻 had a gummy smile, we explained to her mother 👩‍👧 what a gingivectomy was and she agreed for us to do the treatment and the result was impressive and the patient is now very happy.😃

Cavities are an injury to the tooth structure caused by the acids of bacterial plaque that have not been effectively eliminated. Cavities begin by damaging the outer layer of the tooth that is responsible for protecting them, the tooth enamel.

If cavities are not attacked in time, they can continue to develop until they reach the dentin and, subsequently, the nerve of the tooth. These dental layers do not regenerate, so cavities cause irreversible damage.

In cases of very advanced cavities that have already damaged the nerve, the tooth can no longer be repaired and it is very likely that the patient will end up losing the tooth. To avoid reaching this point, it is advisable to go to the dentist at the slightest sign of cavities or dental infection.
