A middle-aged patient came in seeking to improve oral health, function, and self-esteem, reporting discomfort when smiling in public. We designed a bimaxillary implant-supported rehabilitation, including a full-arch prosthesis in the maxilla. Digital records were taken to design the future rehabilitation that will re-establish the three main parameters in Oral Rehabilitation: vertical dimension of occlusion, posterior support, and anterior guidance.
In collaboration with a periodontics and implantology specialist, who performed all surgical procedures and placed the implants using, six implants were placed in the maxilla and four in the mandible. Once the implants integrated, the patient was occlusally stabilized using high-impact polymer prototypes. The maxillary arch was then restored with a monolithic Zirconia FP3 type prosthesis with vestibular microlayering to enhance aesthetics for a natural look.
The mandibular arch is currently in the prototype phase with Bre.CAM Multi.
The patient reports improved function, greater self-esteem, and more confidence to smile, the most rewarding part of our work as prosthodontists.
