DENTAL VENEER, CROWN AND FIXED BRIDGE EXPLAINED🦷
A dental , and are common dental restorations done to fix, restore or replace teeth. They are made either of zirconia, porcelain or composite.
VENEERS are thin shells of dental material placed on front surfaces of teeth. It can also be described as a "half-crown".
✅ Mostly made for cosmetic reasons as veneers can change a tooth size, shape (squarish or rounded) and shade (lighter or darker).
✅ Great solution for replacing old discolored fillings, close gaps, fix small chipped or cracked teeth, or get that "Hollywood" smile.
✅ Most conservative treatment among the three, as minimal to no tooth reduction is required to make them.
CROWN covers an entire tooth.
✅ Restores badly broken or fractured tooth making them functional again.
✅ Protects brittle tooth from breaking (usually after a ).
✅ Saves a tooth from getting extracted when it can not be restored with a tooth filling.
FIXED BRIDGE is a group of crowns connected together to replace missing tooth or teeth.
✅ For patients who prefer a fixed restoration vs. dentures which are removable.
