PAINFUL HEEL!
HEEL / CALCANEAL SPUR
That morning stubborn heel pain that makes someone limp.
You wake up, take your first steps… and you feel like you’ve stepped on a nail. You shake it off, walk a bit, and it improves.
You sit for a long time and when you stand to walk you feel like you are stepping on broken glasses. Welcome to the world of heel spurs.
👣 What exactly is a heel spur?
A heel spur is a small bony growth that forms under your heel bone (calcaneus). It often comes hand in hand with plantar fasciitis — inflammation of the thick band of tissue under your foot.
Think of it like your body trying to “repair” constant stress… but instead, it creates a tiny spike that punishes you with pain.
👣 Whet does it hurt so much?
First steps in the morning = worst pain
Pain after long periods of sitting
Discomfort after standing or walking for long
It’s basically your heel saying: “You’ve been overworking me, now deal with the consequences!”
🩺 First-line management.
Before anyone even whispers the word operation, we go through conservative treatment:
✔️ Painkillers (NSAIDs) – to reduce pain and inflammation
✔️ Orthotic insoles / heel padding – to cushion the heel
✔️ Proper footwear – ditch flat, unsupportive shoes
✔️ Weight management – less pressure on your heel
✔️ Physiotherapy – guided exercises.
✅Most people improve with these. It just takes patience (and consistency — not one day on, three weeks off 😄).
⚠️ When Pain persists for 6–12 months despite proper treatment
The pain is severe and affects daily life (you can’t walk or work comfortably)
Conservative methods have been truly exhausted (not just tried for a week 😅) Surgery 🗡️ is involved.
💬 Real talk…
That heel pain isn’t just “normal aging” or “you slept badly.”
It’s your body asking for attention.
Ignore it, and it will humble you every morning.
Manage it early, and you’ll keep walking pain-free.
Our Specialty care
In we do orthotic insoles to take care of your heel pain.
Foot orthotics relieve heel pain (such as plantar fasciitis) by altering lower-limb biomechanics. They reduce tensile strain on the plantar fascia by supporting the medial longitudinal arch, control excessive heel eversion, and redistribute ground reaction forces.
Have you orthotic insoles ready and insert them in your normal shoes for the occasion. Can be fitted in any fashioned foot ware 👞👞👟👠🥿👢
👣 Take care of your feet… because they carry your entire life story, step by step.🤸
