DENTAL CAVITIES IN BABIES AND THEIR PREVENTION.

✓ Cavities are caused by bacteria or germs that live in the mouth, and grow by sugary foods and drinks

✓ when bacteria digest food,they create acids that softens our teeth.This is a gradual process but with proper care it can be avoided

PREVENTIVE MEASURES

1. No bottle after one year of age

2.Never allow your children to sleep with bottle or sippy cup

3.Avoid extended and repetitive snacking.focus on meals

4.limit the juices and sodas

5.snack on healthful things like fruits,vegetables etc

6.Avoid candies

7.help the child brush his or her teeth twice a day

WHAT IS A DENTAL SPLINT?
~This refers to several types of orthodontic devices that are designed to address dental problems such as loose teeth or bruxism

~HAVE YOU EVER WONDERED WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF A SUDDEN TRAUMA OR INJURY TO YOUR TEETH?

✓ well,splinting is the solution.

This is how splinting works,the loose teeth are held together in position with wires.This prevents the mobility of the affected teeth and thus healing occurs within a month. The splints are removed after healing and you can go back to your smile😀

✓ However,it is important to note that this treatment is effective if the trauma is fresh. Delayed treatment leads to gum infections and eventual loss of the tooth.
