🇰🇭 Cambodia Visit
This was my first time visiting Cambodia, and it became a journey that taught me far more than I had ever imagined.
Throughout this visit, I had the privilege of traveling together with Dr. Mamoru Kubota and Dr. Koji Tokuhisa for the entire itinerary. Sharing every moment — academic discussions, cultural experiences, and quiet reflections — made this journey even more meaningful and memorable.
One of the most unforgettable experiences was visiting Angkor Wat. Standing before this magnificent heritage site, I was deeply moved by the scale, spirituality, and historical depth of the Khmer civilization. It gave me a renewed understanding of how great and influential the Khmer Empire once was as a vast and powerful state.
Through learning more about Cambodia’s history, I felt a strong sense of pride and dignity in the Cambodian people. In many ways, I found them to share similarities with the Japanese spirit — quiet strength, respect for tradition, and resilience.
I was also struck by how beautiful and luxurious the airport was, even compared to those in Japan. Wherever we went, we were met with warm smiles and genuine kindness, which left a lasting impression on my heart.
I am deeply grateful for the meaningful academic exchange at the University of Puthisastra and for the generous hospitality we received throughout our stay.
This visit reminded me of the value of international collaboration, cultural understanding, and human connection — not only in dentistry, but in life.
I sincerely hope to return to Cambodia again in the future.
Thank you for this unforgettable experience.
