Filling damaged teeth with a restoration should not be considered as an ideal treatment since it does not aim at eliminating the fundamental cause of caries (Elderton RJ (1996). Treating restorative dentistry to health. Br. Dent. J.181(6):220, 221-225.).

As you are well-aware, dental caries is a health problem but can be managed by dentists and dental hygienists. Dentists and hygienists can benefit with the use of existing methods to detect signs of early and advanced caries, and based on these assessments, can provide recommendations on the management of caries (and dental decay in general). In particular, often various dental products are suggested but understanding of these therapies is not always clear.

I believe this study bears strongly on dental research and provides new and interesting discussion points for oral health clinicians throughout the world.

放射光施設SPring-８で行った基礎実験論文公開後、歯磨きに含まれるフッ化ナトリウムは1500ppm未満に薬事が改正されました。国際宇宙ステーションがある時代に歯科ではまだ齲蝕を削り充填しています。真面目にやりすぎたのか、バックナンバーでお読みいただくことはできません。私に投稿を依頼してくれた勇気に感謝します。
