Periodontal Healing Without Surgery

This is a 28-year-old patient diagnosed with Stage III Grade C periodontitis, with no systemic diseases.
Treatment started on 9 October 2024 using the Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) protocol with AIRFLOW®, PERIOFLOW® & PIEZON® from EMS.

- After 11 months of follow-up, we observed:
• Dramatic improvement in soft tissue condition.
• No mobility of the teeth.
• Evidence of bone formation in affected sites.
• Patient stabilized with a much healthier oral environment.

⚠️ Unfortunately, tooth #14 required extraction due to complete loss of bony support.
But overall, the treatment goal of stabilizing the case and prolonging the life of the remaining teeth was successfully achieved.

This case highlights how minimally invasive, non-surgical periodontal therapy can truly change the prognosis and quality of life for our patients when combined with motivation, compliance, and regular maintenance.

- Regular recalls and motivation remain the key for long-term success.

Referred case for GBT
In this case, excess cement caused bone resorption around the implant.Cement complications are silent but serious. Regular maintenance and professional cleaning can save both bone and implant longevity.
Management was done with Guided Biofilm Therapy (GBT) using:
- PI Max® instrument (EMS) → designed for gentle & effective implant cleaning
- AIRFLOW® with PLUS powder → biofilm removal around implant and soft tissues
Now dr. will complete the treatment
