🔹What are Night Guards?

They are dental guards to be worn during sleep to protect teeth from the effects of bruxism (I.e. Teeth Grinding).
Also k/a, Nocturnal Bite Plates Or Bite Splints.

🔹How do they work ?

They work by putting a barrier between the teeth. When you clench, the night guard helps to lighten the tension and provide cushion to the facial muscles.

A case from last month.

Patient visited our clinic with severe pain and sensitivity on cold intake in upper right tooth region.
On oral examination, deep caries was found in the respective tooth and root canal treatment was performed in two visits.
After prosthetic crown over the tooth, she is able to chew properly from that respective side.
Though she was afraid of dental treatments as it was her first time at the dental office, she co-operated well and got the results in turn.

Final X rays to be posted soon.
Special mention : 3 canals noted in upper 2nd premolar.
