Due to threat of CoVID -19, we are closing down all elective treatments for the next 2 weeks. We consider it our social responsibility to break the chain and limit the spread of infection. The use of machienary that produces aerosol during dental treatments make it more prone to spreading these viruses. We also owe it to our support staff whose risk is also at par with that of a dentist.
However, we are available for all emergency services. So in case of an emergency contact 9846831814 for an appointment.

Other general points to ponder:
1. The spread of virus is very fast and exponential, and even asymptomatic patients can transmit the virus. Therefore practice responsible social distancing.

2. Avoid travel and any functions or crowded places. Maintain at least a meter distance from a sick person.

3. When it comes to the type of medicines that can/cannot be used during this time or about changing of bp or cardiac medications; do not rely on the internet and consult your doctor.

4. Always wash your hands with soap for 20 seconds. Use of a hand sanitizer with atleast 60% alcohol is effective. Keep surfaces clean using a disinfectant.

5. After a travel limit your self to a home isolation as much as possible for a period of 14 days. Limit interactions with family, especially elderly people and children. Stay in a well ventilated room, preferably with an attached bathroom. Eat your meals separately and properly dispose mouthmasks that are used. Also, try to discard the clothes used for travel or check proper means of handling them.

6. Contact the helplines if any symptoms develop. Be alert especially if you have travelled from areas that have positive tested cases for the virus since that puts you in a high risk category.

7. Avoid venturing out as much as possible to limit community spread.

Is it always necessary to go for root canal treatment for a tooth that is damaged? Root canal treatments are done only when the pulp tissue inside the tooth is irreversibly damaged. So when a RCT is unnecessary but also because direct restorations need tooth structure to hold them in place, we can go for partial coverage indirect restorations. Case of an NPG inlay done with dentcare

When a tooth is placed way more forward than the others there are more chances for it to fracture during a fall. This patient all of 19 years old was very conscious of his broken tooth and malalignment. Since the tooth was healthy, i decided to opt for the more conservative composite build up instead of going for a full crown. Patient is still apprehensive about the slight change in alignment even though it was adjusted to a limit by the composite. So now fingers crossed.

Ellis class 2 fracture of 11,12 in a 14 year old boy. Restored free-hand using composite after placement of dycal at the deepest portion of the fracture. An immediate solution while we wait for a definitive reading on the pulpal status.
