As a parent have you observed in your child the milk tooth has fallen long back but permanent tooth is not erupting?? Or have you observed a swelling over there??
This is called as eruption cyst which is a condition which delays the eruption of permanent tooth.. if the permanent tooth is not coming even after more than 6 months since milk tooth has fallen it is better to show a dentist who can evaluate the cause and help.
In this case a 7 year boy walked into our clinic with a complaint of permanent tooth not coming since last 9 months and a painless swelling . After thorough examination and xray a quick incision procedure was planned and the permanent tooth erupted just 1 month afterwards .
So parents do keep a watch on the time gap between falling of the milk tooth and eruption of permanent tooth.
