Back in Goa after 11 years for IAACD
It feels special to return to the same city and the same conference platform. The 2015 IAACD conference was held in Goa, and now after 11 years, the 35th Annual IAACD Conference is once again being hosted here (7–9 August 2026) at Resort Rio.
Meeting mentors and colleagues after more than a decade was truly meaningful. I had the opportunity to reconnect with Dr. Sandesh Mayekar, one of India’s most respected names in aesthetic dentistry, and also spent time with Dr. Rafael Beolchi, discussing real clinical situations and learning practical insights from his experience in whitening and microabrasion for challenging cases.
One important clinical reminder stood out clearly:
Not every white mark on teeth needs the same treatment.
• Some are only on the surface
• Some are deeper and porous
• Some need bleaching
• Some need microabrasion
• Some need resin infiltration
• And some need a combination
Jumping straight to bleaching or filling is not always the best first step. A proper diagnosis helps us choose the least invasive and most effective option for each patient.
This conservative approach protects natural enamel and often gives more natural-looking, long-lasting results.

Healthy smiles start with good habits at home. For children aged 2–5, gentle, regular brushing prevents cavities and builds lifelong oral hygiene habits.

Use a child-sized soft-bristled toothbrush, a pea-sized amount of fluoride toothpaste, and guide your child’s hand in small circular motions twice a day. Keep it fun and help them until they can brush confidently on their own.
