A missing tooth isn’t an end of a story, it’s the beginning of a new smile!
This young girl came to us in 2021 with a missing canine, a bridge i.r.t upper later, canine and premolar. Her aesthetics were compromised and she genuinely felt under confident. She was also looking for aligning her teeth as the missing canine had caused spacing. She was specific to getting only her upper teeth aligned though she had deep bite and a traumatic bite.
We went ahead with her orthodontic alignment with braces on her upper teeth as requested and on completion of her alignment we placed a narrow tall implant as the space was compromised and because of a missing canine she didn’t have a canine eminence either. So, we placed the implant with labial tilt along the z-axis to overcome the absence of eminence which is crucial for aesthetics. We had to give crowns on 22 & 24 where the previous bridge seated.
Now, she fractured her 22 and the challenge wasn’t immediate implant surgery which we are proficient with it was the different trajectories as the initial implant in canine was intentionally inclined and now to being born into a very pleasing alignment is bound to be a task. We utilised digital smile designing tool along with CADCAM to create a beautiful true to life smile makeover and the end result wasn’t just a triumph over the challenges it was what we call “pursuit of perfection”
