Your tooth has a deep cavity/infection that has reached the nerve (pulp) of the tooth. Root Canal Treatment (RCT) is required to remove the infected nerve tissue, clean and disinfect the canals, and seal them to save the natural tooth and eliminate pain/infection.

After RCT, the tooth becomes weaker and more prone to fracture because a significant amount of tooth structure is lost. Therefore, a dental crown (cap) is recommended to protect the treated tooth, restore its strength and function, and improve its long-term success.

Without a crown, the tooth may crack or break during chewing, which can compromise the treatment outcome.
