Pediatric Endo Case Insight

7-year-old patient
Deep caries involving pulp w.r.t 36
Immature tooth with 1/4th root formation

Treatment Done:
Apexogenesis using MTA + GIC restoration. LSTR therapy was followed.
1 year follow-up: Root elongation seen and the tooth was asymptomatic clinically hence Bioflex crown was placed.

6 Months Later: Gingival redness and radiolucency in distal root was seen.
QUESTIONS RAISED - 1. What could be the possible causes for the failure of apexogensis?
2. What should be the next line of treatment?
