WE DON'T REVEAL IDENTITIES.
That’s been one of our core principles for years—out of respect for privacy, insecurities, and dignity.
But this time, we’re breaking that rule.
Out of love and respect for one of the most special patients we’ve had at Smilekraft Dentistry—Mr. Swaminathan Panchpagesan, fondly known to us as Swamiji.
We met him back in 2013 after an exchange of nearly 30 emails discussing treatment and outcomes. When we finally met at our previous establishment, he came in for his very first consultation with gifts for us, something he has continued to do every single time he has visited us in India from Singapore since then.
Over the years, patients and doctors do exchange gifts—usually after treatment is complete. But this was the first time in my career a patient did so before we had even begun.
Swamiji has been one of the most cooperative, gentle, and thoughtful patients we’ve known. He also remains the only patient ever to ask us if we were sure we weren’t charging him less.
In a profession where conversations around money usually go the other way, that moment stayed with me—not because of the money, but because of the human it revealed.
He doesn’t live a life that displays wealth.
He lives a life that reflects contentment, integrity, and a deeply respectful relationship with money, people, and the world around him.
These images show his smile, my son’s smile, and a few close-ups from his treatment. But this post isn’t about dentistry.
This time, we’re revealing an identity not to celebrate the treatment—but to celebrate the human we cherish and feel privileged to know.
Our beloved Swamiji.🫡🤗
Grateful for moments that remind us that dentistry, at its core, is still about people.🙏❤️😊
