One of the things I hear most often from parents is, but my baby doesn’t seem to have pain.

Cavities in toddlers don’t start with pain. They often begin quietly. The earliest signs can be easy to miss, and many children continue eating and playing as usual until the decay has progressed.

If you notice any of the signs in this carousel, it doesn’t necessarily mean your child has a cavity but it’s worth having it checked.

As a pediatric dentist, my goal is to help prevent and catch problems early, when treatment is usually simpler, and less invasive for the child.
