Could widening the upper jaw do more than just create space for teeth?

In this case series, we’re taking you through the orthodontic journey of a growing patient who underwent Rapid Maxillary Expansion (RME), followed by comprehensive orthodontic treatment.

The patient presented with a narrow upper jaw, dental crowding and nasal constriction, along with frequent episodes of nasal blockage and cold-like symptoms. RME helped expand the constricted upper jaw and improve the available nasal airway space, creating a better foundation for the next phase of orthodontic treatment.

As the treatment progressed, we were able to address both the skeletal and dental components of the case, ultimately working towards improved bite, alignment and facial balance.
