visit periodontal and restorative management of external cervical root resorption #
This 76 year old patient reported with a chief complaint of foul smell and taste originating from his upper right canine area.probing the area revealed a cervical defect. Rvg showed a huge radiolucency at the cervical third of the root suggestive of external cervical root resorption. he was not willing for extraction.ideal treatment plan including re-RCT was also discussed which was refused by him.Single visit periodontal and restorative management of this tooth was planned. Full thickness flap raised and exposed the defect. Degranulation done. Tooth isolated with rubberdam and teflon. Gp removed and fiber post bonded followed by composite restoration. Thorough finishing and gloss polishing done. one month post operative review revealed well healed gingiva with a bright smile on his face
