Dr. G. D. Pol Foundation's Y. M. T. Dental College and Hospital celebrated " Oral Hygiene Day 2022" on 01st August 2022 to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. G. B. Shankhwalkar,Doyen of Indian Periodontology.
The Department of Periodontology in association with the Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP) conducted this event. Dr. Roshni Thakur,ISP EC member and Oral Hygiene Day coordinator was the chief guest for the event. Director,Dr. Kavita Pol-Nalawade, Dean, Dr. Meghna Vandekar and all the Heads of the departments graced the event with their presence. Dr. Amit Benjamin, Head, Department of periodontology, gave a commemoration speech. All the dignitaries paid their tribute to Dr. Shankhwalkar sir following which "Plaque Detection Camp"was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Director and Dean.

The camp entailed plaque screening, sample distribution and oral hygiene awareness instructions to all the patients. Close to 130 patients were screened and appointed for subsequent cleaning appointments.

GSK pharmaceuticals provided their support by providing plaque detection scanners, promotional materials and samples and special mention to Group pharmaceuticals for providing additional samples for distribution.

Dr.G.D.Pol Foundation's YMT Dental College and Hospital and YARST in association with Nobel Biocare conducted a 2 day session on All-on-4 concept on 17th and 18th June 2022.
Dr.R Hariharan,MDS Prosthodontics, was the mentor.
The session comprised of didactics, demonstration, handson and a live surgery.

Department of Periodontology, Dr.G.D.Pol Foundation's YMT Dental College and Hospital celebrated the World Oral Health Day in association with Indian Society of Periodontology.
The day started with a lecture around the theme "Be proud of your Mouth", delivered by Dr.Amit Benjamin, Professor and HOD of Periodontology.
Various other activities were conducted which included poster presentation competition, quiz and a game of Dental Headsup.
The program aimed to create awareness about the importance of maintenance of Oral health and hygiene.
The event was well attended by the undergraduate students and interns.
