Presenting a case where the patient arrived complaining of painful tooth (regular complaint at a dental clinic).
On examination the tooth was split into halves i.e CRACKED TOOTH & history confirmed of patient biting on hard food (groundnut in this case). ๐ฆท
A cracked tooth diagnosis can be done better with 3D imaging at times along with history & clinical examination, to decided about treatment & prognosis of the same . Symptoms of a cracked tooth include -
โข pain when chewing or biting, especially when you release the bite .
โข sensitivity to heat, cold, or sweetness .
โข pain that comes and goes, but is rarely continuous .
โข swelling of the gum around the affected tooth .
So, not just decay but you need to take care of your teeth from unnecessary trauma as well ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ
